TASK:Construct a 1:2 model incorporating a wall + window + roof/ eave using actual material elements. After construction test integrity with a hose, simulated rainfall for 5 minute period. ReplyDeleteAfter placing the window frame ontop of the concrete, to keep it at an accurate level; two braces on either end were hammered into the frame which were attatched to two small wooden pickets stuck in the ground. it was a success, which helped us continue building the wall
We placed ties on the window frames much the same as a brick layers do when attaching the window to the wall. These ties go into the mortar lines and help stabilize the window in the wall.
